Storytelling

By Nico Shorack, Kevin Le, and Charlie Quane | Dec. 6, 2023

Sometimes, when we can't see the forest for the trees, blogs help us catalog our journey through the woods. They provide a tool for both writers and readers to relive experiences. Furthermore, blogs are particularly useful in showcasing change over time due to their sequential nature. When creating a portfolio, the aim is to highlight your strengths and update it with new skills and abilities you've developed. In this regard, blogs are an ideal medium. They can demonstrate the growth of specific skills over time and offer step-by-step, concrete evidence of ongoing development. Blogs serve to categorize and organize, acting in some ways as living proof of what you've learned, constantly evolving, much like a portfolio that also displays skill growth over time. Sometimes, a blog is already a portfolio in its function and essence. Just as one might overlook the forest while focusing on individual trees, one might not realize that a blog, particularly 'this blog,' has been functioning as a portfolio all along.

Blogs allow the reader to experience a writer's thoughts on current or past issues. An archive of one perspective.
